Our methodology

The Messaging Alignment Plan

Most consultancies hand you a strategy and wish you luck. We don't. The MAP takes you from 'what should we say' to 'here's how we say it, everywhere.'

The challenge

You know your work is excellent. Your marketing doesn't show it.

You've built deep expertise, a proven track record, and a unique approach that gets results. But when it comes to marketing, you're told to focus on 'pain points' and 'market needs.' The same generic needs your competitors are addressing.

So you end up sounding like everyone else. Competing on price. Explaining features instead of communicating the excellence that actually sets you apart.

Your best-fit clients, the ones who would value what makes you different, can't find you in all the noise.

Two different starting points

We flip the model.

Traditional marketing starts with market research to identify needs, then builds messaging around those needs. We start somewhere else.

✕ Traditional approach
Step 1: Start here
Identify the market need

What problem exists in the market?

Step 2: Then
List your features

Here's what we do to solve it

Step 3: Result
Generic messaging

Same as everyone else addressing that need

The problem: you sound like everyone else in your category. You compete on price, not value. You attract price shoppers, not ideal clients.

→ The CURE approach
Step 1
Uncover who you are

Your expertise, point of view, what makes your work excellent

Step 2
Find the right audience

Who specifically needs what you uniquely offer

Step 3
Authentic messaging

Communicate your distinct value clearly

The result: you attract ideal clients who recognize and value your excellence. You differentiate on what actually makes you different.

For example

The same shift, four industries.

Healthcare Technology

You're a healthcare tech company building software for rural hospital systems.

Traditional messaging

"We provide cloud-based healthcare management software for hospitals and clinics."

(Generic and forgettable)
MAP-driven messaging

"Rural communities deserve the same quality of care as urban centers. We build technology that gives small hospitals enterprise-level capabilities without enterprise-level budgets."

(Distinct and compelling)
Workforce Development

Let's say you're a workforce development organization with 15 years of experience creating successful apprenticeship programs.

Traditional messaging

"We help close the skills gap and connect job seekers with employers."

(Generic and forgettable)
MAP-driven messaging

"We believe sustainable careers are built through mentorship, not just training. Our apprenticeship model creates lasting professional relationships that transform industries."

(Distinct and compelling)
Architecture Firm

You're an architecture firm known for sustainable design and community-focused projects.

Traditional messaging

"We provide innovative design solutions for commercial and residential projects."

(Generic and forgettable)
MAP-driven messaging

"We design buildings that strengthen communities. Our architecture creates spaces where people connect, collaborate, and thrive for generations."

(Distinct and compelling)
Financial Advisory

You're a financial planning firm specializing in helping families navigate complex wealth transitions.

Traditional messaging

"We offer comprehensive financial planning and wealth management services."

(Generic and forgettable)
MAP-driven messaging

"We believe wealth transitions don't have to divide families. We facilitate difficult conversations so your legacy strengthens relationships instead of straining them."

(Distinct and compelling)

Your product or service is excellent because of who you are. Your expertise, your approach, your unique perspective.

The MAP ensures that excellence doesn't get lost in translation. We capture what makes you different and turn it into messaging that attracts the right people.

How we build your MAP

Three phases, one throughline.

Discovery, Alignment, and Activation. Each phase builds on the last to transform your excellence into market differentiation.

01

Discovery

We dig deep to understand who you are at your core. Your expertise, your values, your point of view, what makes your work excellent.

  • Leadership workshops
  • Stakeholder interviews
  • Market analysis to find white space
02

Alignment

We distill it into a strategic framework that defines your positioning, your message, and how to reach your ideal audience.

  • Positioning statement
  • Messaging pillars
  • Voice and tone guidelines
  • Audience profiles
03

Activation

We bring it to life through websites, campaigns, content, and sales tools that embody your message and reach the right people.

  • Website design and development
  • Marketing campaigns
  • Sales enablement tools
  • Content systems

The MAP doesn't just live in a presentation deck. It becomes the foundation for everything you say and everywhere you show up. From your website to your sales conversations to your client onboarding.

Questions

Good to know.

Most MAP engagements run about four weeks from kickoff to final framework. Activation work (websites, campaigns, tools) is scoped separately based on what your MAP calls for.

Discovery and Alignment are the MAP. Activation is where most clients want our help next, but the framework is yours either way, and it's built so your team or partners can run with it.

Leadership, plus the people closest to your clients. The workshops work best when the people who live the story are in the room. We handle the rest.

It depends on the size and complexity of your organization. A 30-minute conversation is enough for us to give you a straight answer with a real number.
